The Matson Museum’s many initiatives thrive on the generosity of Penn State alumni and other private individuals. In 2024, the Museum will open an exciting new suite of galleries and cutting edge collections storage in the Susan Welch Liberal Arts Building, presenting an unprecedented philanthropic opportunity to be a part of the region’s only museum for global culture, history, and art. The new space will allow the Museum to continue to grow and serve the campus and Central Pennsylvania communities with innovative displays and programs. Support a Student Project
Each term, students interested in museum careers are appointed to part-time assistant positions and engage in a wide variety of research projects. Starting at $3,000, you can become a ‘student sponsor!’ This allows a Penn State scholar to gain crucial hands-on experience working in the Museum.
Adopt an Object
Museum objects need care, too! Starting at $100, you can adopt an object from the Museum collection so that it receives proper conservation cleaning, restoration, and long-term storage.
